I am fascinated by people first and content second which means I can get really into any subject so long as the person I am speaking to it is really interested in it. Talk to me about tech trends, different raises, your latest start-up obsession etc. I want to hear it all!
Everyone has had really unique paths to Kea and I really like that the team is made up of such varied and interesting people.Guess who are the ex-Olympians, hint: it’s not me.
What fills your diary on a day-to-day basis?
As part of the Venture-Growth team at Kea, my days can be quite varied. Lots of different professional backgrounds can lend themselves well to early stage investing meaning my days are often filled meeting bankers, consultants, investors, entrepreneurs and everything in between.
What does it take to be successful in your role?
Adaptability. The job is dealing with humans meaning no two days are ever alike – that is both the fun and the challenge of the job.
Which of the Kea values speaks to you the most?
If you would’ve asked me three years ago I would have said Relationship First because in headhunting it feels very obviously important. However Kea has taught me that the most important skill in cultivating strong relationships is learning to listen, not just in order to respond but to understand. So now that I’m older and wiser, final answer: Inquisitive Listening.
My edgeis probably my excellent taste in sweater vests.
